Artistic Director, Bharatanatyam

Vaijayanthi K. Raghavan

Trained in the Thanjavur tradition. Carrying forward a lineage of classical artistry into the next generation.

Background & Training

Vaijayanthi K. Raghavan brings deep classical training in the Thanjavur style of Bharatanatyam, one of the most historically significant and technically demanding lineages in the tradition. Her training encompasses the full range of classical repertoire - from foundational adavus through complex jathis, padams, and tillanas.

She holds certification through the SAMPADA program affiliated with Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, and brings both rigorous technique and genuine warmth to her teaching.

Teaching Philosophy

Vaijayanthi believes that Bharatanatyam is not merely dance - it is a living language of devotion, rhythm, and storytelling. She guides each student with patience and precision, ensuring that technical foundations are built correctly from day one, while keeping the joy of the art at the center of every class.

She holds that every child has the capacity to perform with beauty and meaning, and that the teacher's role is to reveal that capacity - not manufacture it.
