She hails from a family of classical dance and Carnatic music connoisseurs. Began her dance journey at the tender age of 5. Started performing at the age of 7.
Vaijayanthi obtained her training in the Thanjavur style of Bharathanatyam under the tutelage of Smt. Shalini Sarangapani, a direct disciple of the PadmaVibhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam . Vaijayanthi has also been professionally trained to teach Nattuvangam. She is also trained in Carnatic Vocal (intermediate level)
Accomplished her Arangetram, a 3 hour solo performance at the age of 14 at
Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. The Recital was graced by PadmaVibhushan Dr. Akkineni Nageshwara Rao as the chief guest of the occasion.
Vaijayanthi earned her certification in Bharatanatyam (first division honors) from the prestigious Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.
Finalist in the 37th All India Competition for Music and Dance, 2003.
In the last 20 years, Vaijayanthi has choreographed and performed at several dance festivals and won numerous awards at dance competitions across India. Some of these have even received press coverage in newspapers such Indian Express, Andhra Prabha and The Hindu. She has inspired and taught many young students and peers in her community. Including recent performances at her place of Work.

Vaijayanthi is a versatile dancer who believes that Dance can transcend all forms of music and has also choreographed bharatanatyam to Spanish, English and Indian semi-classical music.

She seeks to guide and mentor her students through Adavus, Mudras, Navarasa, Jathis the 7 stages of song-based performances, Salangai Pujai and ultimately Arangetram.
